Believer, Singer, Actor & Writer

Norris Thompson is a Singer/Actor and Writer from Chicago Illinois.  The military Gulf War Veteran started singing professionally as a member of “Total Impact” a Hip-Hop vocal group based in Oakland, CA.  In 1997 Norris moved back to Illinois and enrolled at Southern Illinois University as a Radio TV student.  At SIU he was heard by Hip Hop Detox founder Enoch Muhammad who asks Norris to sing on one of his speeches.  The hit song “Tonight” was produced and added to the Hoodlum Records Complication and received major market radio airplay.

In 1998 Norris answered the call of God on his life and began writing songs of hope, love and inspiration. Those songs were heard by Dr. Phyllis Johnson, Chair of the Radio TV department who authorized the recording of an album. As a result, Norris was the first artist signed to the school’s Record Label.  After graduation Norris moved back to Chicago and served as worship Leader at In His Glory Center in Chicago Heights, IL.

In 2002 Norris landed the leading roll in “A Beautiful Friendship” a 1950’s stage play written by Elaine Burnett and directed by Mitchell Harris.  When asked to describe his acting experience Norris states, “Acting is one of the greatest expressions of emotions. You can go from happy to sad in a moment’s time. I knew I had a gift to act when I would do my lines and cause myself cry.”

On June 26th and 27th Norris will show case those acting skills in the hit stage play Strong-Man written and directed by La-Dell Jones of One Blood production.  Norris will star along side La-dell & Dee Jones, Lauren London (ATL) Sparkle and NBA Super-Star Dwayne Wade.  Strong-Man will be hosted by Dr. Bobby Jones & Darryll King at the Regal Theater in Chicago.

Norris will also release his second album in June on the Cateye/On The Map Label owned and operated by his brothers Cateye, Big Pat & LiL D host of the Bridge Radio show on WYCA 102.3. His two singles “I’m Tired” and “Where Would I Be” are already receiving radio airplay  on WYCA 102.3 where Norris works as a Producer/Board Operator & collogue to Stellar award winning radio personality Darryll King.

Norris is a multitalented individual with a communication ministry that will bring mass healing and deliverance to the body of Christ as well as the world.  He’s also co owner of Sunsuary Christian Health, Book & Variety Store in Chicago Heights, IL and founder of Just Jesus Ministry in Aurora, IL.
